Laurent C. Vonderweidt is licensed as an attorney both in France and in California. Mr. Vonderweidt received a Master of Law from the University of Pantheon in Paris, France and from the University of San Diego, California. He also a received an advanced degree in accounting in France.

Mr. Vonderweidt speaks both French and English.

While in France, Mr. Vonderweidt first worked for a law firm specialized in cases before the Court de Cassation, the equivalent of the US Supreme Court. He then went with the law firm of Salans, Hertzfeld & Heilbron, representing major international corporations. At the same time, he was an adjunct professor at the University of Paris-X teaching Banking Law and Contracts.

After attending the University of San Diego, Mr. Vonderweidt first represented European interests in Southern California. He then worked for two major Los Angeles law firms. In 1995, he opened his own law Mr. Vonderweidt has served as an expert in international legal matters.

Through the years, Mr. Vonderweidt has developed strong ties with the French community in Southern California. Mr. Vonderweidt has been invited to participate to various live shows on American television such as CNN, The Today Show and the NBC news hours as well on the Public National broadcasting radio at the News Hour with Jim Lehrer as well as on the French radio station Europe 1. In France, he has been a invited on several occasions in France to speak to business leaders regarding investing in the United States.

Mr. Vonderweidt is an arbitrator with The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and has presided over several arbitrations.

Until recently, Mr. Vonderweidt served as a member-founder of the European-American Sheriff's Advisory Council, a think tank advising the Sheriff of Los Angeles on issues affecting the various European communities in Los Angeles.

Vonderweidt & Johnson is a business law firm with a strong emphasis on representing foreign corporations, and principally French corporations coming to the United States. Most of the firm’s clients are from Europe but also from Australia, Switzerland, Belgium, Iran, Algeria, Lebanon, Vietnam, Canada, Columbia and Senegal just to name a few. The firm assists foreign companies setting up subsidiaries in the United States as well as new business ventures. Our foreign clients are generally unfamiliar with the American legal system as well as with the local business practices and we are assisting them through extensive negotiations with American partners regarding the purchase of businesses, the setting of joint ventures and the negotiations of contracts. Litigation is another major component of the firm practice.

From our affiliated office in Paris, our firm primarily represents American clients with interests in France. These interests include contract negotiation, setting up French subsidiary offices, French immigration maters and litigation. Fluent in French and using my French legal education and experience, I am able to guide my clients either French or American, who have interests in France, through the arcane of the French legal system. Having worked in France and maintaining both professional and personal ties there, Mr. Vonderweidt have many resources available in both countries.
